Sure…why not try to attract the thrill seekers?  No harm in that…

A thought that often crosses my mind.  That Robert Zemeckis was full of crap.  ;)

I couldn’t help but hear Conan O’Brien in my head going “In the year two-thooouuuusaaaand… as I was drawing this.

Anyways, this was inspired by an actual real gizmo supposed to be out on the market by the end of the year.  Take a gander and marvel at the arrival of the scary future.

Some of us have been waiting on a common standard for this one for a loooong time.  Of course, carrying the analogy further, I woud have to say that the United States = Toshiba in this case.  It’s just that we don’t surrender quite so gracefully.

That’s right.  It’s a holiday.  I got the day off.  Odds are I’m probably goofing off all day.  So a SCSI toon for a scuzzy stay home day.

SMACK!

The next time somebody wants to raise a bunch of money for a good cause, they should get ahold of some software engineers responsible for the most notorious and infamous user-unfriendly blunders and sell tickets for a dunk tank or something.

Windows ME - DUNK!

Anything written by Adobe - KERSPLASH!

Oh yeah, big bucks.

I learned a lesson today.  I usually like to draw while playing a TV show or movie nearby.  That way in my own weird, lazy way, I feel like I’m multitasking.  But the lesson I learned is this:  Don’t draw your cartoon while attempting to watch “Apocalypto.â€?  Too much reading.  And way too many blood and guts scenes that you just have to gape in horrified awe at.

Had to take a break to get this off my chest…

And if this is really what the media thinks my days are like, boy are they way off.  I NEVER get up at 6:00 am.

But seriously, the media just can't seem to stop talking about her...  As if they think we actually want to know.  There's a serious disconnect there...

"The Sims" would probably be the safest place for Alan…  He can go to work every other day without getting fired.  He can take a job as an astronaut or a sports mascot.

But if my girls were playing the game, his life would be in serious danger.

If I were a modern day Jeff Bridges and were somehow stranded Tron-style inside today's cyber-space, Line Rider would go from being an addictive, fun little pass-time to my worst nightmare.  Especially in the hands of a vindictive roommate.

Let's face it, in your average FPS, when you die, you respawn, but in Line Rider, you can fall for all eternity.

Eesh.

The word of the day is phhft.

Just got back tonight from almost a week of traveling (It's correct both ways.  I looked).  Spent a few days visiting the folks after Christmas and then attended a New Years Eve party for our World of Warcraft guild.  Fun times.  Had an absolute blast.  And the roads were even merciful to us.  Thank Heaven!!

You may notice the slightly disfigured title.  As the strips progress over the coming weeks, that title will change occasionally until the new theme is firmly set and then the disfiguredness will give way to the new strip name.  And for those of you who know what it is, NO TELLING!  :D

This is my homage to Johnny Hart.  I considered his holiday poems a special treat and will miss looking for a new rhythmic quip on such occasions.  Sadly, we lost a good cartoonist this year.  And I suspect a good man, as well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Man…I had this idea and though it was pretty good…wrote it down…sat down and drew it all out, scanned it into the computer, finished it all up.  And now that I can look at the finished product, I gotta say, that is the worst Santa in history.  I think the store would throw him out on his ear.

But, it is kind of realistic from a certain perspective.  You know Santa is the kind of guy that starts sentences with "Why."  Cuz, you know, he's from that generation.  "Why, when I was a boy…"  "Why, sure!"  It’s the Why Generation.

This is from a series of strips that introduced a new character named Abby.  She hasn’t been back to Stranger Things since the whole Alan-gets-laid-off thing, so I kind of miss her sometimes.  I thought this particular one was fun and can stand alone apart from the storyline well enough.

I was hanging out with a bunch of friends a few days ago doing some gaming and we had this 80s/90s rock station playing in the background.  Several good and long forgotten songs had played when suddenly I hear Nelson.  Doing their one song.  I actually surprised myself at how suddenly and violently I reacted to having that long buried memory dug up for fresh reflection.  Eesh.  So while drawing this, I imagined Alan hearing an elevatorized version of "(Can’t Live Without Your) Love and Affection."  Thus the painful expressions.

And after that last panel I imagined Alan having a harassment lawsuit filed against him.

Someday someone should release an album where every single song contains part of the title in parentheses.  I would find that humorous.

These little messages are getting pretty popular from Guild Wars to Wii Sports.  Well, the ones similar to the first panel, anyway.  The rest is sort of an embellishment.  BUT…what if developers had an ulterior motive?  Hmmmm…
